The Buffalo Sabres rebounded from their recent lapse in a big way against the Washington Capitals on Saturday night at HSBC Arena. Ryan Miller received his first shutout and Thomas Vanek scored two goals in the Sabres' 5-0 win.

The Buffalo Sabres continue their point streak to five games to start off the season with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Atlanta Thrashers. The Sabres came back from a two goal defecit to take the game to overtime, but couldn't match Atlanta's skill in the shootout.

The Buffalo Sabres have had a perfect start to the season, going 4-0 in their first four games. Not only have the Sabres had success, but they have looked the part as well. The Sabres have been very good offensively, defensively, and in goal.

Earlier today, Jason Pominville signed a five year contract extension worth $26.5 million with the Buffalo Sabres.
Pominvile Gives the Sabres Until Friday

Jason Pominville has recently decided that he will discontinue his negotiations towards a contract extension with the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, the day before the season officially begins with first day of training camp.
