SabreCast #41 – Crunch Time

Sunday, March 15th, 2009 5:12 pm by Mike

In this week’s episode of SabreCast, we discuss the past week’s games, the Playoff picture, and what happens if the Sabres miss the Playoffs again.

Episode Recap

In the last week, the Sabres have gone 1-1-1, losing to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2, beating the Florida Panthers 3-1, and losing to the Atlanta Thrashers in the SO (for the third time) 4-3.

The Sabres had a roller coaster week, but they are actually a point closer to the Playoffs than when it started. The Sabres are still in 10th place with 76 points, but are only 3 points behind Carolina in 8th.

Lalime had another pretty good week in the net and Max Afinogenov has been one of our best players since getting back in the lineup. However, we still need a few guys to step up their play if we want to make the playoffs, specifically Pominville, Connolly, Hecht, and Moore.
