SabreCast #36: Sabres vs Hurricanes

The Sabres returned to HSBC Arena for the second (and last) time this month and beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1. Tim Connolly had his best game since coming back from injury, scoring two goals and helping secure the Sabres’ second consecutive victory.

Game Details
- Miller stopped 36 of 37 and played very well, especially in the third period.
- Tim Connolly scored two goals in his fourth game back. Teppo Numminen had the other Sabres’ goal.
- The Sabres played a strong game in the first and second periods, but Carolina came on in the third, scoring 17 seconds into the period. After that, Miller stood tall and stopped the next 18 shots.
- During the second period, Teppo Numminen was hit in the face by a deflected shot, but played eight more shifts. He did not return in the third period. We found out later than Numminen has undergone facial surgery and will miss several weeks.
