Episode Breakdown

Game Notes

  • The Sabres sent Mark Mancari down to Portland after having 2 points in 7. Nathan Gerbe was recalled.
  • It was rumored that MacArthur would sit out with a sore ankle, but instead he played on fourth line. As a result, the lines were shook up a bit and Gerbe played with Roy and Stafford while Vanek played with Hecht and Pominville.
  • Rivet also played, who was expected to sit out with an upper body injury.
  • The Sabres got goals from Vanek, Roy, Stafford, and Hecht. Stafford and Roy played very well in particular.
  • The Sabres also played a scrappy game with Gaustad, Mair, and Hecht dropping the gloves. Hecht’s fight with Lecavalier was amazing, mostly because it was so surprising.
