Game Synopsis
- Maxim Afinogenov and Henrik Tallinder returned to the lineup tonight in place of Danny Paille (flu) and Nathan Paetsch. Each seemed to play a bit better after sitting out from two games.
- As a result, all of the lines were juggled and we saw Vanek, Roy, and Stafford as the top line. They were by far the best for the Sabres.
- Derek Roy (6) scored the first two goals of the game to get the Sabres
- Jochen Hecht scored the game winner in the second period on the penalty kill.
- Overall the Sabres looked like a team that wanted to win. They got the early lead and played strong defense to make sure they kept it.
