SabreCast 2.12 – Keys to Success

Sunday, December 13th, 2009 7:43 pm by Mike

In this episode of SabreCast, we discuss the past week of play from the Sabres, who went 3-1 against New Jersey, Washington, Chicago, and New York Rangers. We also read listener feedback and kick off our main discussion.

Main discussion: Keys to Success.

Matt and I discuss the keys to the Sabres success thus far this season. The major keys include:

  • Goaltending: Ryan Miller has been unbelievable.
  • Defense: The defense has been consistent and has seen excellent play from Myers and Tallinder.
  • Penalty Kill: Currently 4th in the league.
  • Scoring depth: The goals have come from a wide variety of players.

Please send us your feedback at anytime, rate out show on iTunes, or leave us a voicemail at (716) 393-9259. As always, hanks for listening!

Well, boys, I was able to quit my crabbing about the Sabres on TV for a night since I got to watch them on local Chicago TV. Fans around here crabbed about their local team’s lack of TV coverage for years, as the Blackhawks used to only air road games for years! Not only was it great to see a Sabres game, but a Sabres win was the icing on the cake. A weekend of gloating to all my friends and family was in store, and was it fun. I was glad to see Miller get a night off. Beating the ‘Hawks is a feat, and using the backup goalie makes it an even more impressive victory.
