The Buffalo Sabres continue their point streak to five games to start off the season with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Atlanta Thrashers. The Sabres came back from a two goal defecit to take the game to overtime, but couldn’t match Atlanta’s skill in the shootout. Vanek scored his seventh goal of the season and Pominville had a goal and an assist.
