Rivet Out for Two Weeks

According to Sabres.com, Craig Rivet has had arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss at least two weeks.  Although I didn’t notice, he has apparently been playing with a sore knee this season. Nathan Paetsch will take Rivet’s spot in the lineup and Lindy Ruff has switched up the defensive lines a bit as a result:

Tallinder-Lydman
Sekera-Spacek
Numminen-Paetsch

This will be Paetsch’s first game of the season after being scratched as our 7th defenseman up to this point. There was some fan speculation that Weber would be called up from Portland, but that appears not to be the case. With Rivet off of the power play as well, look for Paetsch to fill in as he has played there previously.
