SabreCast #43 – We’re Still In It

In this week’s episode of SabreCast, we discuss the past week’s successful batch of games and what the Sabres need to do to make the Playoffs.

Episode Recap

In the last week, the Sabres went 3-0 versus the Florida Panthers, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Montreal Canadiens. This was a very pivotal week as the Sabres were matched up against 8th and 9th place teams in the conference.

The Sabres beat Florida 5-3 in a come-from-behind victory on Wednesday. The team rallied and played a great third period, coming back to win after being down 3-1.

Ryan Miller returned to the lineup on Friday against the Maple Leafs and helped the Sabres get another 5-3 win.

Finally, on Saturday, the Sabres beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 in the shoutout. Lydman scored the game winning shoutout goal and Miller stopped all 6 Montreal shooters.

Over the course of the week, forwards Tim Connolly, Jason Pominville, and Clark MacArthur stepped up their games and contributed heavily to the Sabres offense. Connolly had 4 goals, MacArthur had 3 goals, and Pominville had 1 goal and 5 assists.
