SabreCast #11: Sabres @ Rangers

The Buffalo Sabres’ third game of the season took place earlier tonight at 7:00 pm against the New York Rangers. The Sabres won 3 – 1 in a tight game with excellent special teams. Lalime started in net. Clarke MacArthur scored the first goal on the Power Play and Vanek scored his fourth goal of the season on the Power Play and his during the Penalty Kill, his second shorthanded goal in two games.

- The Sabres look great for a third game in a row with excellent play all around.
- The Sabres special teams effort was stellar, scoring two PP goals and a shortie. The Sabres still have not allowed a PP goal.
- Sabres defense and goaltending has also been great, allowing only one goal in each of the three games. Not too many saves for Miller, but a couple nice ones late in the game.
- Vanek was in beast mode again and put up two goals, one was even shorthanded.
- Kaleta ticked off another player (Mara this time) and got the Sabres a nice five minute PP.
