SabreCast #6 – Training Camp

Sunday, September 21st, 2008 10:37 pm by Mike

This is our longest episode of SabreCast yet. Like our last episode, we cover Sabres news and continue our Player Profile segment with Derek Roy, but this week it is not our main segment. After getting a chance to see Sabres veterans and prospects on the ice in a scrimmage at Puck Drop 2008, we have a lot to say about the current lineup for this season’s team.

This episode includes:

  • Recent Sabres news including our reactions to Pominville’s contract extension
  • Player Profile segment discussing Derek Roy
  • Puck Drop 2008 coverage
  • A detailed discussion about training camp and the 2008-09 Sabres roster

A Little More About the Show

Right now we are still on a once-a-week pace and I think we’ll continue that until the regular season starts. Even though the Sabres will be playing preseason games starting Monday, we won’t start the new format until regular season games are under way, but you can expect the next episode to another long one.

Also, you might notice that the audio quality of the show seems to vary a little. Right now we are still recording this the amateur way, with the built-in microphone on my Macbook and it picks up some background noise. The computer also likes to be loud sometimes while we record, so if you hear a faint whining noise, it’s actually the fan of my laptop.

So we’re sorry about the quality, but with the show just getting underway, it’s impracticle for us to go out and spend a lot of money on recording equipment. If the shows starts to take off, then we’ll probably make the sacrifice.
