Puck Drop 2008 Schedule Released

Today, the Buffalo Sabres released the schedule for Puck Drop 2008, an all-day event at HSBC Arena on Saturday, September 20th. The event features an adult street hockey tournament, a Sabres scrimmage, the unveiling of the third jersey and new wall mural, the opportunity to purchase tickets and preorder jerseys, and live music. Admission and parking are free.

I’ve heard that the rookies have already reported to training camp and have been practicing in the Pepsi Center in Amherst. Veterans don’t have to report until the 19th, when training officially begins. When the Sabres hit the ice on Saturday, it will be the first opportunity for fans to see Sabres players and prospects in quite some time. I don’t plan on passing up the opportunity, though Matt has been complaining about missing valuable weekend sleep.

The basic schedule is as follows:

Time Event
9:00am Sabres regular season tickets go on sale.
Adult street hockey tournament begins.
10:00am – 1:00pm Sabres scrimmage, third jersey unveiling, and autograph session
12:00 – 2:00pm Food and live music.

You can find event and training camp details at the Buffalo News website. There, you can also find the Sabres full training camp roster (PDF).
